Thanks to you I found out that the car I was about to buy had been brought up and re-registered in Sydney from Victoria having been written off with repairable hail damage 12 months earlier. I understand now that from 2011 on a car that has been written off cannot be taken over the border and re-registered in another state. Did a quick U turn on the deal.

Satisfied my enquiry promptly and efficiently with minimal cost. Thank you.

Excellent resource. Given the average cost of a car it's a small fee to pay for vital information.

Tim from Adelaide, SA - December 2009

The Car History Report revealed the car had been written off 3 weeks earlier so I didn't proceed with what would have been an expensive and troublesome exercise.

William from NSW - December 2009

It saved me $9,500 after the seller denied (forgot) to tell me it was a repairable write off ! It was worth spending $25 to have peace of mind and know what I was buying or not buying.

For the small cost of this report it is absolutely priceless to verify past and/or present issues that vehicles may have. Particularly, private sales when all facts regarding past repair and ownership are concerned. This report alone could avert a potentially poor and uninformed decision being made on vehicle purchase.

I found the Car History report comprehensive and also let me know a couple of things about the vehicle that I did not know. Very happy.

David from NSW - November 2009

I bought the bike from a dealer who showed me a REVS cert stating the bike had not been recorded as a repairable write off. The Car History report gave me dates, etc of the bike being smashed and I returned the bike to the dealer with the veda cert and got my money back. Thank you very much.

I was going to buy a Nissan X-Trail online and had already won the bid for the car. I wanted to make sure the car wasn't owing money on it, and history details. To my surprise I read that it had been an unrepairable write-off with the impact damage report. I immediately called the seller and asked why she hadn't put this in the advertisement and retracted my bid for the car. It really did save me buying a car that looked good in the photos with only 36,000km. Thanks for the quick instant report that I had in minutes I was able to retract the bid 12 hrs before bidding had ended. Invaluable!!! And the seller was also surprised that I knew more about the model of her car than her!

I highly recommend that anyone thinking of purchasing a car use Veda. It saved me from purchasing a car that had finance still owing on the car. Veda helps you to buy with confidence - if the information a buyer supplies you does not match with the information in the Veda report - don't buy the car.

Ross from QLD - October 2009

The vehicle was a caravan which had been an economic write-off. The report simply confirmed what the private seller/repairer had told me. It is an excellent buy.

Many thanks to the professionalism of the staff, knowledge of the industry and their mobility. I would never consider the purchase of a car without using the Car History check. A sincere thank you.

Fiona from NSW - September 2009

I wish I had done the report before placing a deposit on the car as I lost $1000. The owner of the vehicle refused to give me the deposit back and it wasted a lot of time.

I was looking for a vehicle to buy for my son as a first car. We found what we thought was a great buy, low kilometers, clean looking car and not too old. The engine looked good, but I became uneasy when I noticed the number plate was brand new. We decided to proceed with buying the car and agreed with the seller to come back the next day and pay with a bank cheque. Alarm bells went off for me when the seller phoned and requested that some of the payment be made in cash. At this point I decided to run a Car History Report and found the car had been in an accident that I was not informed of. I withdrew the offer on the vehicle and decided to keep looking. I did notice that the vehicle was gone from its spot on the road a week later. I just hope the person that did buy it knew what they were getting themselves in for.

I used your report twice. First was for a car I wanted to buy but I suspected had been in an accident. I asked the owner and he told me it had never been involved in a smash. When I did your report it told me the car had been in an accident only 4 months earlier. It had been a repairable write-off. I called the owner and told them about your report and they were stumped for words. I told them they should change their story next time. The second time I used your report I bought the car as it was exactly as the owner had described to me. I would definitely recommend your service, in fact, I have told several people about it already.

The Veda’s car history report is fantastic. I had found a car that I wanted to buy and decided to put a $1,000 deposit on it. The vehicle looked in great condition and the owner was seemingly open about the vehicles history. I decided to run a Car History Report to be safe and it showed that the vehicle was a repairable write-off only a couple of months earlier. The seller denied all knowledge of the incident. We asked for our money back, but he refused. I only wish we had run Veda’s car history report earlier so we didn’t put down the deposit. I have since found another vehicle for which I carried out a car history report also – which was also reported as a repairable write-off. When I asked the seller he instantly dropped the price from $16,000 to $13,000.

I purchased Veda’s car history report on a vehicle I was looking at buying. It came back indicating some problems, and that the vehicle had been involved in an accident and repaired. I had placed a deposit on the car. Luckily I got my money back and did not purchase the vehicle. It’s hard to say but I probably saved between $3,000 and $5,000 by not purchasing the vehicle at the agreed price.
