If you’re looking for a used car in Queensland, you should always conduct a REV Check QLD before you buy. It tells you whether your pick is on the Register of Encumbered Vehicles, i.e. has money owing on it from the previous owner. If it does, the relevant creditor may be able to repossess it; a REVS Certificate provides legal protection.
To do your REV Check QLD all you require is your VIN or Chassis number, engine number and registration number. Which is all well and good, but there’s a lot more information you need before you can be really sure you’re not buying a cleverly disguised lemon.
CarHistory is a part of Veda Group, the largest consumer and credit information bureau in Australia. In addition to a REVs Check we can answer the tricky questions your REVS Check can’t, such as:
- Has your chosen car ever been registered as stolen?
- Is the mileage accurate?
- Has it ever been in a major accident, or sustained any damage the owner hasn’t told you about?
- Is it a repaired write off?
In addition to REVS data, our CarHistory reports are based on Government and industry resources including:
- Glasses Guide
- National Vehicle Information System (NVIS)
- Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries
As of 2012, we also use the national Personal Property Search Register to help establish whether your used car is a wise purchase. The PPSR brings Territory, State and Commonwealth interests under one umbrella.
CarHistory reports also include a current valuation and sales histories. Environmentally conscious? We provide an ANCAP safety rating, air pollution and greenhouse emissions and an overall green rating.
